Default Gears problem

I was going in reverse and when i wanted to change to 1st i couldnt engage,it was like neutral, later on i lost second too i tried to change manually on gearbox but it doesnt work , its vts 1.6 16v with standard MA gearbox. Help

If it goes into 3rd and 4th but no other gears then it's the "long" arm on the back of the gearbox. it's common for the roll pin to wear out and it can fall out.

Either that or one of the short linkages have popped off - assuming you've checked that already if you've tried to select gears manually on the gearbox.
