would a solid engine mount not post the risk of snapping and shearing the mount?
I thought mounts are made of rubber to take the flex of all the movement..
are there massive advantages of using solid mounts?

this is something we have discussed and are waiting to see what happens as everything is so solid. ive taken it on my head that things may shear and brake but that will be part of the learning curve as you could understand,

cheers for your interest

This looks like a cool build
The lower peugeot sport solid mounts have a small rubber insert in the alluminium cylinder which doesnt promote any engine movement, but what it does do is prevent the frequency of the engine vibration from causing rattling noises coming through and annoying the hell out of you. This is the only thing i can see being the problem with the lower one, but if its for track it probably wont bother you that much nor disassemble your interior as you've that sorted It'll be interesting to see how all of them together turn out.

What was the manifold welded with? MIG and cast wire? Was it difficult to do?

i know its gonna be loud in withthe solid mounts but that wont really worry me, when your concentrating on driving everything else goes out the window.

the manifold is not the best as we just welded it with a mig and steel, with not having a tig we just use what we can which is steel and the mig welder from the farm. one day when i got some money id like to buy a tubular one but thats ages off( got a mortage to pay for unfortunatly!!).

cheers

Make sure you tell us all how they go, i'll be very interested. I had a mount go on me that caused the whole car to literally shudder. Disgraceful it was thats probably how the solids on your car will feel lol
