You mean VTS wheels. The plughole alloys were VTS wheels, people just know them as VTR wheels because of the Mk2 S wheels. .

yes, but later ones have a taper under the head of the bolt so they work with a standard taper seat steel wheel, neccesitating a larger bore hole in the wheel.

I believe the taper on the bolts is so that you can use a steel wheel as a spare wheel until you get an alloy re-fitted.
I know the bit you're on about. it stops you using the later bolts on the older wheel because of it.

that's it yes, they used a black painted michelin steel wheel, as used by the 106 rallye, albeit in white.
