Default Fuel tank removal?

I want to drop the fuel tank down off the car just wondering where it disconnects from the lines? I am going to drop it with the fillerneck attached to it hopefully as I want that off aswell. cheers

i disconnected mine from the fuel filter (end closest the front of the car), if you are planning on replacing your fuel filter as your there, do it, as you can attach it properly with the strap as its hard to do otherwise imo, the new filter will come with a cap on the end you can use this to block your old filter from pouring fuel everywhere, while you do what ever your doing. also drivers side you have a fuel line you pull the two connectors apart i think they are red/yellow or something, dont pull the white block as these tend to break easy

Cheers mate will have a look at it, the tanks probably gonna be off a while as I'm in the process of undersealing the whole car and sorting any rust issues out so ill probably just try and drain what fuel is left in it if I can

Would be worth flushing it out with some carbon eater aswell whilst you've got the tank off, will help a lot with getting rid of carbon deposits in fuel line and filter

Hi finally got round to dropping the tank down but I'm struggling to get it free? I've disconnected the lines inside the car and the wiring plug, undone the fillerneck so that's all loose and ive undone the two bolts underneath holding the actual tank up.

Tank is loose but it feels like its stuck on something and I don't want to pull it too hard incase I rip fuel lines off or something. I haven't disconnected the fuel filter yet but that doesn't seem like its in the way?

Ok I've dropped it down now and its on the floor, axle stands were getting stuck on it lol.. anyway there is a thin pipe coming down from the drivers side wheel arch which goes to the white ballbearing box thing on the fuel tank and I can't work out how to disconnect the pipe? looks like there is a little connector just before the white box but I can't work out how it comes apart and I don't want to break it.

Trace it back through the wheel arch and disconnect it at other end?

It goes through to the inside of the car I think behind the rear interior trim, must be able to disconnect it at the fuel tank side surely?
