It did start off as a "what if" kind of idea then just seemed to spiral out of control with the ideas tbh. Hoping it really starts to take shape soon, but as you know, with a wife and kids it's pretty hard to find time for tinkering!!!

I can get you lots of pictures if you want. Doesn't look too clever as it is though

Got a deposit on a low milage lump right now.
I reckon it'll be 6-9 months before the engine is in. Not sure about when it'll be running as I'll have to save up for a custom loom which will probably take me into next year as that will be the last thing on my list

thats good, are you going to go to town on everything or keeping it simple? (i.e. susp, brakes, gearbox)

Cheers man. Bodywork is dead straight at the mo but the paint needs some attention. I'm in 2 minds as to whether to have a full respray in flat black like I did my old one or whether to see how good I can make this paint look.
You know me - it has to look good!

It will all be relatively simple tbh. No PAS or ABS.
I liked the feel of my old Billie B8/GMC set up so I'll replicate that with this and polybush all the mounts
Brakes will be Hi Spec midi'd or the Wilwood minilites so I can get them under 14 inch wheels.
The gearbox I'll be using is the Civic supplied one. The B16b comes with a nigh on bulletproof box with LSD as standard. The only headache I'm expecting is when the invoice for the driveshafts come in!

Id say try correcting the current paint to begin with. See how you get on with that first? Ahh I definatly know the score.
I'd say check out the Bilstein Group N's over the B8's dude. B8's are good, but Ive read/heard get things on the Group N's also, and plus the fact your starting from scratch, it would only make sense.
With regards to the box, are you not tempted to mate the later spec DC2 box to the B16 engine? This box comes with the 4.7X FD. I believe its a better box over the EK9 one.
Cant remember if its a straight fit, I'd imagine so near enough.

I thought my old system was the group n set up but was later corrected. Tbf that seemed hard enough for what I want. I'll mainly be using it on the drag strip so the rears will get replaced with solid rears for then
as for the Box I'll look into that. Def sounds interesting as I'll be after accelleration from standstill

Ahh right. Thats fair enough dude.
Theres loads of info on similar setups on EK9.org. Just cant remember the full details of the top of my head. Definatly something to look into.
Most builds will however be B18C with the 4.7X FD. I will have a nose this week and see if I can fish any info out.
