Default Mk1 vts speedo and rev counter not working

I recently bought a mk1 saxo vts project put a engine into it and have started it runs very well but the rev counter and speedo do not work tryied some other dials out of an 8v and the same problem occurs spent 2-3 half days buzzing wires and have continuity on both and generally looking and trying different things and I'm beginning to lose my rag with it. It's an early p reg with key pad that's been deleted none of the key pad/ imo wires run back to the ecu would this be a problem? Can't see it myself but I'm willing to try anything at this point any one shine any light on my situation? And are 8v saxo clocks wired any different to 16v?

No the immobiliser is totally separate from the cluster.

There's slight differences between mk1 and mk2, and 106 looms.

What loom are you using for the 16v and where did it come from?
