my virgin media superhub decided it wasnt going to open ports up for VPN purposes one day. Useless cheap hardware, ended up running it in modem mode and replacing it with a tp link router running openwrt firmware. No problems at all since and solid as a rock

Thanks for the help everyone! Well BT have just been and gone, they replaced the router and we are now back online. My NAT type is still moderate but I'll have to live with it. Don't want to mess anything up. BT guy denied it was their fault and said its a problem at the Xbox end (the opposite of what Xbox told me!) Its annoying but its far too complicated for me to start messing with!

Superhub 1 or 2?

My 1 was useless. Got the 2ac recently and must say considering all you have to pay is postage it's been pretty decent for me.

5GHz is life x

The 2 for me, can you just ring up and get a new one then? Mine doesn't do ac but then I don't even use its wifi capability, openwrt offers me more functionality
