That's mine 2+ years ago. As you can see, nothing's changed in mocals production despite being repeatedly told about this problem they clearly don't give a shit.

Where can these alloy ones be purchased from or do you have a link as I'm in need of one and was going to order the mocal one until I saw this.
Thanks

pick up another engine (they really are free/cheap!), I'll set the ECU to boost-cut when it goes to 13psi which will protect the engine, while you sort out the boost problem, then just map it.
It's really only the labour now, you are SO close mate, do it one more time - don't sell up!

Ok. Im not ready to give up on it just yet!
My frustrations have been set aside, but its going to be coming off the road and i will be getting another car this week.
Ive got another engine lined up, its just a matter of going to collect it.
Ive been offered an S2 rallye head and J cam for cheap- Could this be an option to go down? or would it make the final setup a bit trickier?

No, leave it as your car is now, just get the whole boost issue sorted out!!!
It'll be reliable, grunty, and driveable. Just need to sort out the 18-20psi boost pressure.

On the lookout for a bottom end.
Now the weather has taken a turn for the better im going to strip out the saxo and fit another bottom end and do it all again
Bought myself another car last month, got an astra H, 1.9cdti 150 thingy. Although the torque is nice, and it doesnt rattle my spine, its not fun to drive
Need the saxo back!!

Finally took the head off today.
Was not expecting this haha.
Cracked the liner and the piston flops about. I think its broken up
Picking up another block soon and will sort the boost out this time

Before the engine is started up for the first time, let me attach to the ECU again, and setup a boost limiter on it. This will protect the engine by activating the rev-limiter if the system detects boost over the preset level.

I will do andy, ill get the boost sorted before I run it up this time too.
My advice bud.
If you can afford to do it then do!
Such an awesome feeling in a little saxo, if you dont do it properly like ive done at times, it can leave you feeling like you could just give up on it all.
