Worth a listen
A mate of mine has had a few songs recorded, he gigs a lot in and around London and Tunbridge Wells, trying really hard to get himself known.
If you wouldn't mind having a quick listen, see what you think.
Cheers.

Know exactly what you mean mate, doesn't sound proper professional yet, he is great live though. Just needs a bit of guidance from the right person/label to get his recordings sounding tip top.

Yeah no doubt. I was gonna say his voice sounds good i just think he needs a more " current backing theme ". Something slightly more electronic i'd say.
He seems in the same category of that James Arthur. Defo got potential . Tell him to keep going it aint easy this music game.....

who's doing his mixing or is that not recorded properly, if thats supposed to be recorded and mastered its poor
his voice is ok but nothing special, he will find it hard to stand out amongst the crowd, but he can sing
his best bet is to try more diverse songs, this is what im trying to get my GF to do at the moment to get her more noticed and some of the songs sound really cool
but keep it up if its what he really wants to do he might get there some day

In all fairness, there's people in the charts with voices that are " nothing special ". Its common knowledge that most artists are using auto-tune.
I agree with you about the track, which is why i said he needs more of an electronic vibe about him.... perhaps a dubstep track. Despite people hating the genre, its current and this sort of half rappy / street singing works with it.
I think a proper production on his voice would do the trick, atm it sounds more acoustic with a standard beat behind it. I 100% encourage anyone to never give up though, thats what music is all about its a long road but hard work pays off one day.
Pro studio engineers haven't been in the game 40 years for nothing.
I've been producing around 8 - 10 years, probably serious for about 4 of those years. I haven't even blemished the scene. Only now, with my new techniques inside reason 6.5 am I starting to make tracks that resemble a balanced punchy mix you'd hear on a radio. So I know i'm getting close to something special however, it takes time.
Plus, on my last remix i posted I got a compliment from Manu which is something I don't think many ever though was possible lol.
But yeah, in all seriousness, its a long lonely ( at times ) road and you meet good people, jealous people and bitter haters along the way. But you smile get on with your tunes with your mind fully focused on the end goal. Which may be a chart hit or a tune played on radio .... people are different but its completely possible.
