Default VTS rocker cover (Need ground down?)

Hi guys,

I had my rocker covers re-sealed a few months ago, but they have split again and are leaking.

Im sure i read that when doing it you need to grind the "feet" of the covers down before re-sealing.

is this true? any ideas?

thanks

Yes I always grind and file them flat and never had anyone moan about a leak after.

Make sure to clean both contact surfaces too before you seal them. I use brake cleaner and I apply the sealant to the rocker covers rather then then engine as I find it easier (make sure you go inside the holes. I've seen people go around the outside. Lol) Tighten from inside out and use a setting sealant not a non setting one.

Think that's all
