Read through your progress there, liking the upgrades , but missed the bit about when the saxo comes out to play... winter is over (or so we're led to believe)
Or have you decide to stick with the 172?

Its awesome, its a massive difference to the bus wheel makes the steering heavier too, think I'd have preferred a slightly larger wheel but its just getting used to it. My mates got a Momo Team 280mm I think its too small though

cheers buddy! the saxo got sold in january and was written off 3 weeks later, it did look nice but was full of rust and underlying problems so cut my losses, shouldve broken it tbh would have made more money but ohwell live and learn!
For now the cup is my main car, told myself i wouldnt mod it either but that lasted all of 2 months haha!
Cant remember if ive put a checklist up for the next few months so here we go:
1. New brakes all round (on order)
2. Oil service
3. Front arb bushes
4. Front balljoint
5. Mani - Cat gasket replacement
6. Remap
7. Bimarco Futura & harness
8. Rear tyres

40mpg is attainable on a steady motorway journey. Around town and in traffic I get 29-32mpg and thats with new lambdas, the F4R really doesnt like sitting in traffic

As above tbh. I got 46mpg going down to TFS 60ish all the way there.
Stop start driving for a mile is never gonna give good economy no matter what car, makes me glad my commute is 28 miles lots of time to warm up and a steady 70mph all the way here

Even on a good day I dont think my vee would get above 25mpg Lowest i see usually is 18 and averages 21. Like you though, when i use the vee going to work it gets a decent run (35 mile round trip).
Got a real soft spot for the Gordini Blue, reminds me of the (insane) Volve tuning company Polestar colour

Yo.
New brakes are here, mintex discs and pads for the back, Brembo HC discs and Ferodo DS2500's for the front, just to get a weekend off work to fit them.
Also got some bullets sprayed up by Simon at Spray Shack which are awesome just stuck them on now:
desperately needs a clean but the weathers shit so fuckit.
