Default Brake bias valve???

heard different stories about these?

You can remove it when lowering to help out the back breaks locking first? Are they easy to by pass? I am putting a lowered axel on tomoro with no valve, does anybody know how to by pass this? Might seem a bit of a noob question but thought I would get a better reply on here

Cheers shuggles

i wouldnt run woth out one

it reduces the amount of braking pressure to the rear of the car, meaning the fronts do more work.

with out one you will have a 50/50 split on brake force which isnt good!!

i agree dont run it with out 1 if you still have the old 1 then just loosen it off when you put the new 1 on

if your wont to remove the oem thats fine, but if you do you need to fit one of these
then you can play about with how much you wont at back and front. i.e 10%front 90% at rear ect... also fit in the car so can change it really easy

If you move it inside you will need to remake a load of brake pipes

When i put a vts rear beam on my ax I had real problems with the oem bias valves, imo theyre pretty naff as standard. When you lower the beam the bias valves sees that as extra weight in the rear so brakes harder - when the rear locks up before the front youve got problems.

Aftermarket bias valves are good but have downfalls, you need to ditch the split system, and pipe the front pair together and the rear together rather than diagonally a rear and a front together. It means faffing with the brake lines, also if you do have a break in the lines then your gonna be left with just the rears or the fronts... and thats an MOT fail

You can still keep them diagonal. You plumb the front pair separately from the front and one from the rear of the mc. Then the same with the rears, but on this one you have to join them into the bias valve. Then split to the rears. as you say the rears and at danger of both going if a line fails. But if anything happens to one of the mc seals, then both rears will still work, not as well, but

by bridging the systems if one of the rear pipes burst then the entire system would fail?
