see my car will be a pure track car and will be seeing at least two track sesssions a month, yet i would hate it to look like a bag of shit track whore or not, this is a saxo off here tht was done in garage where i work, roof, bow, fitting and painted for 500ish quid, ppl spemd 1000's on making a track car, y not extra 400 quid tht will make it stronger as you can weld guest to the new roof bow and genrali look millions times better.

mark i admit that looks tidy. it looks like a saxo without a sunroof
i wouldnt pay so much for removing 5kg off the roof. the hassle for me just isnt worth removing the roof. your a nutter for going that involved with the roof lol

took the words right out of my mouth lol... in my opinion a track car is how it goes not how it looks (£400 is some nice goodies)

Agree with both of you, it has to look acceptable unless you're a style whore. Id rather spend £4/500 on something I would notice the difference with. Id fit a new skin if I was fitting it myself though.
Il be fitting something pretty soon to cover up the sunroof, il post pics once its done.

well i work in a body shop so i can do it at work in work time
i do agree with both side, 500quid for it is alot to spend on a new roof and like db say for 500 quid your can get a set of hispec or 90% of the funds towards standalone ect ect... i think its down to perspnali preferance,
but tbh if you can weld its piss easy to fit them your self, and if your building a proper track whore u must be able to weld or know someone tht can

I did mine with a sheet of aluminium some tiger seal and a few rivets on my old 106 then painted it
Did the job but takes the strength out the roof if you remove the structure (like i did) so youll need a cage if your planning that

Which is the structure part?
Dannygti's done a good job on his, used a carbon vinyl to cover it. Im thinking of using a carbon sheet rather than ali sheet which will look alot better and just seal it to roof.
Only thing im unsure about is the part which comes down below the roof what sunroof sits in.

Grind it gently keep a steady hand then file the burrs. Should be easy enough to make it neat!
