Sorry for bringing an old thread back up.

These cheap ebay cams. Is it true they use a lot of memory or can that be adjusted?

Depends what options the camera offers, some allow you to change the resolution they record at which would vary the size of the footage.

1080p!
i want viewers in the car with me!

I'd imagine the lowest they would record is 640x480

could get nearly 4hrs on a 2gb card at that im sure

Can't remember now but did work out how much 1080p footage my cam can get on a 32gb card.
Might have been about 9hrs.

You get what you pay for with them, i used one at knockhill. It failed to record on 3 sessions. Data kept on corrupting itself. Using a top notch sandisk memory card.

Not the only one to have the same issues.

The sound is also hit and miss, cutting out at times, say when clipping a curb or slight bump in the track. But as I mentioned, get what you paid for.

But in answer to your question, they do use a fair amount of memory, can't be adjusted. Digital videos use a large amount of memory anyway.

I've just got one of the cheap eBay USB cams, the people that I know that use them just blue tack them to the dash and they are perfectly fine...

I need to invest in a new camera system, I want one that does not suffer from picture wobble like those £7 ones.

Any ideas ?
