Vibe = overpriced tat.
On that budget you're probably best looking at JBL products.

I know a couple of people that are running Bass Face SPL5.1 in their cars and they don't have a bad word about them!

I've heard them myself and to be honest they're bloody good for the price!

I've heard the running from a headunit and on an amp.. They're far from 'shite' haha!
They're very very good for the price and surprise a lot of people!

Well they might produce sound but they won't be good. You may aswell stick to the well known brands.
Just the fact they claim to be 250w/500max is enough to put me off. Like the loudest.com products - "our 6x9's are 25,000watts that means theyre awsome!"

A speaker that apparently handles power up to 250 W rms seems on the weak side of weak. Any company who advertise their products through RMS or even PMPO power is best avoided.

brand name bass face yet no bass coming out of it.
tempted to call bullshit on that figure.
Lots of people in this thread with lots of shite recommendations and not a clue in sight.

Some speaker manufacturers will use PMPO or RMS to inflate real "nominal" power figures and impress clueless idiots (because it's got more watts it's bettah innit). The watts figure is only an indicator for how much power coming out of an amp that you can get through a speaker before it blows up.
Usually you see them at halfords or argos (ministry of sound/vibe shite), with more or less 25.000 watts pmpo claims. Means fuck all, you only have as much power as what your amp outputs. Usually, manufacturers who put those figures upfront do so to amazeballs you into thinking it will be good quality which it never is.
A good indicator of how loud it gets is called sensitivity, that is how loud a speaker gets when fed with one watt of power, and is displayed in decibels. As above, I claim bullshit on the 95db figure because from experience I have never ever seen a budget speaker that would reach 95. Probably more like around 85.
yo yo yo look at this clown:
the size of the volume control of this thing, and have you ever seen so much chrome on speakers before?

250w RMS each pair so only 125w RMS each speaker! Have you heard them for yourself? I guess you haven't that's why you've looked at the figures and claimed their not that good... that's judging a book by it's cover isn't it?
After all these are just coaxial door speakers that are much better then the standard ones, and not 'overpriced tat' like what Vibe apparently is.

Being a sound engineer who has built more speakers / installs than I care to remember, and owning gear that's worth more than a few saxos put together, I think I can afford to. Whenever a shitty looking website claims exclusivity (another lie) on a cheap made in the arse end of China brand, presents bullshit stats yet omits resistivity, but instead dribbles a copypasted description about space grade materials and sibilance free dome protection, I call for fluffed up bullshit. And I like to think I'm not too far off.

Ok ok ok so you're a sound engineer... Why haven't you recommended anything? All you've done is say that everything is shite.
Another thing, if the OP only wants to spend £100 on an amp then it's not like he will want to spend silly money on some competition standard components? That's why I said about the Bass Face speakers.

That would be because it is. Even halfrauds regularly sells jbl/alpine speakers for the price of your bass stuff.
