I prefer an analogue tacho and the Stack above does a lot more than I need.
I only want to know revs, water temp & oil pressure so:

and a shift light ;-)

Stack dash

No where to put it Nick, and seeing as I'm having a new interior loom built up by Beaniemoo I might as well treat myself on some new dials I reckon lol

How so? Can you be specific? Feature wise, it's basically identical to a RT dash but double the price.

Also (I've not checked) but what do you do for indication, main beam, etc on the stacks? (presuming a dash for a car to be used on the road also)

just the plastics actually seemed better in front of you if that makes sence
it just looks a much higher quality product over the spa ones ive seen not seen an RT in person

the car i saw with a stack had no lights ect as it wasnt for road
i know there are different versions though for different features

its one of those things though ive seen a few and i know which appears the best quality but really i have no want or need for one so ive not bothered to do my homework on it as it would be a pointless excersize as i wont be buying one

Want Oil pressure, oil temp (an actual figure not just a gauge) and water temp - again an actual figure not just a gauge.

why do you want an digital figure rather than analouge

it takes longer to focus and read a figure than a glance and go yea the needles in about the right place

even seen people mark a bit of tip ex or similar on the bezel of the guage at the point it normally sits a very quick reference

One of the main reasons I'll be getting a Stack over a race tech, which I did really look into getting, is the analogue rev counter is much easier to glymps at and in my opinion the other displays also seem easier to read, the RT looks a bit cluttered with things like 'mileage' 'trip' and others constantly displayed.
You do have to work out all your other mandatory road lights for yourself, but you only need to buy a couple of leds and mount them in the surround you have to make anyway as its much smaller than a factory cluster.
I guess it depends what you're planning to use it for?
The facia is glass on a Stack as an interesting fact.

Pictures of the one in our Clio
(It'll be fitted to mine soon as the Clio only goes to 7800rpm so the rev counter isn't right so I'll be buying an 8000rpm version and swapping with his)

Yeah the glass will add a touch of quality for sure

The RT rev counter is digital, but also a "moving bar" kind of arrangement - I found quite easy to get used to it, as a glance as you say. The mileage/trip you can stop from being displayed, and use that space for other functions.

I guess it boils down to personal preference - the SPA one I really don't like for example.

I've also a huge fan of the backup/software of the RT stuff - I've done 3 training courses with them now on Data Logging and Analysis and come away every time learning more, and tempted by more products lol, so I guess I am somewhat bias!

Mainly because the gauge doesn't tell you the actual figure, and the standard gauges are about as reliable / consistent as cheese - I've had 3 different sets of dials in mine and they all read differently on water temp/oil temp so I just dont trust them anymore tbh lol. Also the standard rpm dial cant keep up with how quickly my engine rev's up so means relying souly on the shift light & engine note to change gear after 8k

Im liking this discussion lads

but having to actually focus on a number and read it or glimpse at an analouge dial i know which id prefer

in your case i think id go for similar to 106maxi above a good accurate tacho and a good acurate guage for oil temps ect
all could be fitted in the stock place (just got to work out a tidy way) and add a few leds for lights indicator ect

Why would it rule the stack out. Most people just run a led for each indicator ect. iirc some one even makes a drill and clip in led cluster with them all wired to a connector.

There are quite a few options. Simple LED's or something along these lines:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11-Dashboa...item4cfb8cb91c

Might not want retro type ones but just using it as an example as they were the first ones I found.
