Default Bumper & Door strips

My bumper strips and bumpers themselves are looking a little faded, obviously this comes with age. I was just wondering weather you guys could recommend a cheap effective way of restoring these so that they are looking a nice fresh black. I would like to do this myself so id like to avoid garages at all costs if possible.

Thanks

Look on willsy's 309 thread

especially at the mirror caps. it's a few pages back from the end.

Beat me to it! If you can, take the strips off so you're not pissing about with heating up the paint as well as the strips themselves.

I need to do the same with mine as there's some weathering on them but should come up a treat the way that Willsy did it!

Paint will flake though, best doing it properly.

and you can pop them from the inside if you remove the door card. this will break zero clips.

Vt kit is glued on and it is a nightmare to pull off. Easier doing it on the car

Here's how the front started

Process for this was as follows;
1) Autosmart Tardis + toothbrush
2) Clean with baby wipes (cheap, easy to see when there's no more muck present & good at removing previous product residue)
3) Heat gun lightly to bring original colour back permanently
4) Apply AutoGlym Vinyl care whilst still warm, plastic absorbs the product and moisture back in
5) Apply Auto Finesse Revive

And the drivers side

to make it easier to find lol
