One more gear box done lasted a track day so was happy
Box still drove spot on just spring moved and pin hit the casting. XSI box as well but never mind got a vtr box in now so does more than 120 mph top end. Tax runs out September so I will finish the BE mounts off then. Can't be doing with changing gear boxes once a week.

Same set of t1r s been since it went on the road. They do seem to give up a little when they get hot. Going to try some r1r. Or 888

Right well I need to decide. Do i buy forged standard compression pistons or forged low compression I already have PEC rods with arp bolts.
I'm not wanting to go chasing figgers to say 'look my car made 350 hp' I'm wanting around 250 atw or there abouts something that's still usable on the road + reliable so I know I can go to a track day give it hell and still drive home.

That's what I'm thinking don't want it so every time I put my foot down all I get is wheel spin

and thats why I like the s/c and not turbo,s --for small front wheel drive cars.
It will be the wheelspin that is destroying your diffs --so fit an LSD to your next one .
to be fair to yuor g.boxs from the pictures it certainly wasn,t a new or rebuilt one --so maybe a rebuild + lsd and you won,t have any more problems.

Was thinking about keeping with MA boxes but thought I would have a go at converting to BE.
You wouldn't happen to have any input on what pistons I should use do you. I'm not to sure on going for low comp as from what Iv been reading up in that I will lose a lot of power before the turbo spools.

you target bhp +turbo +ecu system will decide which way is best to go and untill you make some decisions its hard to give best advice
the usual decison is made on price of pistons as no off the shlef piston maker does flat top std comp forged units ,
I tired to get people to think this way a while ago ,but to get piston prices to simlar to wossner £400+vat I need to get 20 sets made ---you want one offs the price nearly doubles .
I just can,t afford ot keep 20 sets on the shelf --but you get 10people to wnat std comp forged and I will get them made with suitable cut outs for a vareity of cams.
other problem is that most low/mid boost conversions are done on 8v engines which means they ideally need to find vts con rods or go for forged ones ,or have them fitted professionally to the rods

Already running on predator with gt2554r. I also already have PEC forged rods ready to go in.
I would like to see if any one else would want to go for std comp but can't see finding 10 people.

It does handle well tbh
Was a really hot day, could only get 3/4 laps in before the car was getting far to hot
Need to get some better tyres aswell as the were giving up after about 2 laps

what boost level you wanting to run ?
if you ran a lower ratio box then you would keep it spooled up on lght throttle easier as well ,your not using all your gears so its too high geared for track.
not sure you need any more power until you osrt the other probs ,as more power will make it even more a bitch to drive

The diffs going to have to wait till the cars off the road so I can get the gear box in

That was a 1.4 xsi gearbox that was in then
Thinking of trying an alloy series 1 escort rs turbo radiator instead of this saxo diesel one that's on atm.

sounds like waste of good rubber to me --at least raise your rear pressures a good bit to make the front point the right way on turn in

How much lower would be best for the front to be compared to the rear. It's about 15/20 mm at the moment.
