rite story goes i was at a wedding at weekend and one of my family have a cannon 40d i think it is???? and some of the photos are briliant.

what is a good camera to start off with? and is there anywere i could go to learn about how to use a slr camera?? i live in bolton aswell.

im looking to start up very soon and fancying a Nikon D40, should have a look at these mate, they are apparantly a great started SLR and have alot of brilliant features etc. can pick them up for around £250 and some of the pics that ive seen taken by them are unreal :o)

my local college is doing a free course on digital photography on a night. which im looking into doing. you get 30uni credits for competing it should have a look about to see whats on offer around your parts

i believe the glass is more important than the body so a cheap canon 400D would be a good starter imo

also look at the 1000D and 450D if you want to buy brand spanking new

nikon D60 is a great camera to start off with mate
i got mine for about £320

most sites say this slr is a great camera to start off with for amature

D40 is arguably better than a D60 and a hell of a lot cheaper. You cannot go wrong with a Nikon D40 and even the stock lens is more than suitable for beginner shots. D40's also take SD cards so memory is SUPER cheap for them.

im definalty looking about for one of these some of the shots ive seen from them are amazing and for beginners there apparantly the best thing to get.
