Routine/Tough belly
Now my burning wee episode is over, I now have another concern/question.
Ive started a whole new approach to my eating habits/workout and can see results already which is awesome.
But, one thing I didnt expect was the apperance of a "bloated" belly. Im not actually bloated, but the bulge is there morning/noon/night! I hate it.
Basically, Im 10 stone, 6ft 1, so am underweight for my height, but Im very lean with nice definition, Id say I have a good level of fitness. Dont smoke/drink very rarely!
Ive always had good abs, this new routine has really improved things in that area, where I can now see my 7th/8th ab muscles which is cool. BUT, like I mentioned, my belly hides them as its round/tough/stiff/nasty!!
I been reading on the net and there are millions of things they mention:
- swallowing air
- eating to fast
- not chewing food properly
- not breathing properly during ab workouts
- IBS
- chewing gum
- constipated
- fizzy drinks
- overeating
- side affects of medicines
- lack of fluids
- gas lol
All of the above I dont feel I relate, only possible one could be overeating as Ive upped my food intake.
A typical day will consist of:
- BREAKFAST: 4 eggs/4 toast/1l water
- 1l water
- LUNCH: chicken/rice/side of salad/1l water
- 1l water
- DINNER: 2 chicken breasts/baked potato/veg/3 cups of tea (first one with sugar)
- 1l water and some evenings an ice cream
Ive never had a constant tough/big belly before, and currently have no idea why Im stuck with it ATM. Any clues?

that seems like alot of water, remember alot of your water intake comes from the foods you eat too??

This is something I considered. Reason for the excess water is cause Im working in a very hot country ATM so you can get very dehydrated.
Even after Ive done all my pee'ing in the evening. The belly is still there and very tough. When I conpress it, there is no pressure on my bladder (no "i need a pee" feeling).
The skin around that area is very tight so its not fat lol.
Really odd..

Thats the strange thing, Im actually dropping gas a lot less, not bloated.
I wake up every morning to my big ass belly, my belly was super duper flat first thing in the morning.

Having strong ab-muscles can help every exercises you do, especially running!
And along the years the hardest part, for me anyway, to become toned (REALLY toned!) is the abdominals, especially belly-button and below.
If its not any of the list you mentioned I dunno what it could be and besides I aint an expert.
What do you mean btw "the skin is tight?"

Cheers for the insight dude.
By saying tight, I mean there is no fat around my lower abs.

Rushy, look at something called stomach vacuums. Not sure if they will help or not, but have a read and I'll let you decide

Wow that's me right there, my posture is poor so when I look like that in that right pic, it's because of poor posture? Or is it a serious condition?

Ive been reading on it all evening matey, it seems I have "Anterior Pelvic Tilt". From what I understand what happens is:
* Shortened hip flexors
* Weak abdominals - particularly the transverse abdominus (TVA for future reference)
* Weak/under active glutes
* Lengthened hamstrings
* Tight spinal erectors
Can be a mix or a few of the above list. Read the article below for more info dude:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_exerc...verall_posture
The oddest thing is, I had a nice flat stomach before I started in the gym. My arms and legs show clear improvements, so do my upper abs, but I think poor technique has caused my lower abs to end up like that pic.
Seems you can correct it, but will involve good posture/technique. I need to read up more before making any more mistakes..
