strenthening the engine bay...

ok as u all no my last shell got ate alive with rust picked my new shell up otehr weekend, started working on it this week whne i got back from holiday, cars for rallying, so wont to strenthen he bay up as mmuch as i can...

am going to add plates here and here,

bline line one will be on the under side

you think about doing this,


welding to plate (redboxes) then some 25mm steel tube between rather then the shitty bolt on thing?

also where else can i add plates? i no about top mounts,... just actuali engine bay?

Just stitch weld the fuck out of it and itll be fine
The bolt arrangement on them bars isnt too bad and allows removal of the gear linkage pivot where as welded would make that a njghtmare

the gusseting of the legs will help ive seen that done a few times On different 106s and saxos

have a satch shifter so the gearlinkage things already in the bin mate, its been stitch welded anyways, just wondering if theres any other points people added parts to

a mate stitch welded and put strengthening bars in his engine bay loads of added bars in it, the cars at my work so I'll get a pic when I'm next there.
