360 Cooling - Are you using anything to aid?
So lets be honest, the 360 is a great peice of kit after all thats why we bought one isnt it? Well, nearly.
Im sure most people have had a issue with their console locking up or crashing which is more than likely down to internal temp's being too high.
Now there are a few aids to cooling on the market one being the bolt on units which clip on the back of the 360 and then the power jack goes through the cooling unit - Heard some bad things about these and seen the pic's too.
So basically I was wondering over than making sure air can get to all the vents is there anything else I/we can do to lower temp's while running the 360?
Be interested to hear what you doing or using, cheers

Well seeing as the hot air comes out the back, blowing it back in may not be the best idea but thanks lol

I was reading an interesting thing on Amazon earlier where some bloke was using a Laptop cooling pad (thing with fans in it) to rest his 360 and using a mains adapter so it wasnt drawing power away from the 360 itself.
He seems to feel it worked to a point, any views on that layout?

Well with the Alfa, I only come back every so often to see how things are going on, back to the 360...
I keep mine vertical ie flat rather than horizontail ie standing up as it stands on the largest of the air intakes ie the base. I also have rasied the 360 off the small table its on using a old book which allows air to get under the console again as there are vents under there aswell.
I was just wondering if anybody had used a Intec Cooling station or other cooling devices, the jury really seems to be out on most of these cooling products and alot of people seem to be doing DIY jobs on their cases, fitting bigger PC fans and even water cooling systems (can you say 'Hard-Corer').
Im guessing nobody on here has gone that extreme yet lol

I have a laptop cooling thing with fans in, and it works wonders on my laptop!
So i can imagine that it would work good on a 360 aswell.

I know this is gona sound but does the cooling thing for the laptop 'Blow' or 'Suck'?
Only if you get it wrong on the 360 you could end up blowing hot air back into the unit there by doing more damage than good.
The intercoolers that clip on the outside worry for two reasons 1) there have been some issues with damage to the power connection, damaging the 360 there by cancelling the warrenty and 2) if they are not running they clog the only outlet for heat there by doing more damage than good

And hiw would that help?
If your talking about the new Jasper (I think) chips that dont need as much cooling Ive heard they are better but still can get hot.
Dont want to dremel the case up as its still under warrenty (I think)

If you don't wanna spend too much on it just remove the stock heatsink, clean off the crappy TIM and replace it with some decent stuff like MX2.
Alternativly XSPC make a full cover water block but your looking at spending £130~ or so on it by the time you've got a pump, rad, res, tubing, fans etc.

Could also consider shifting it into the Lian Li case, it has much better airflow.
They pop up on eBay from time to time.

the power brick has to be kept away from heat too as it has fans on each side of it apparently, its best to keep it like this http://media.photobucket.com/image/3...0/IMG_3870.jpg so that all sides are showing
