But, take 2 guys that dont train for pull ups. Ones 10st the others 15st

9 times out of 10 the lighter guy will be able to do the most.

This guy could probably bench 3 x what I can.

But I bet he couldnt do a single pull up.

Its all down to what you train for.

I dont think we are saying that heavy people cant do pullups. I think were saying the leaner person can do more.

I would say a gymnast could do more than a bodybuilder.

That fat cunt would probably bring down the roof by trying a pullup.

My response:Muscle is mass well done, can tell you paid attention in school. Im not arguing that it isnt mass. mass can also be fat. However my point is which many people have agreed on depending on HOW you train and WHAT your training for will determine how many 'x' reps you can do of 'x' exercise.

Boxers/ lighter weight classes/some heavy weight classes - endurance, lots
gymnasts - endurance, lots

Powerlifters - strength, not as many as above
Heavyweight boxers - strength, endurance, bursts of power - depends on what and how they train
Etc, etc, etc

You:Ok so he's helping himself by using his hips but i'd put money down that you couldn't manage 10 doing the same.

My response:Youve never seen me, nor have anyyyyyyy idea what strength/weakness i posesse or what i train for so please dont jump to assumptions you narrow minded child

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoKZ8...eature=related

i dont think the bigger or smaller man will be better its all down to body strength and power to weight

This thread has gone so far down the shitter it's laughable lol.

I'll personally try and get a vid of me doing some pull-ups on my bar, when I can be arsed lol, and I think others who seem to have "the gob" should aswell instead of arguing about whether the smaller man can do more heaves than the bgger man which everyone should know the answer to anyhow, it ain't a bad idea this thread lol.

lol, thread is crazy, just like to clear it up basicaly.. obvly a bigger man can do just the same as any other skinny person.. if they train it.. but any one who does to the gym will train latts and traps.. most bigger people train stregth rather than trying to bulk, there for lot off heavy people should be able to do pull ups..

simple as.. obvly a sumo wrestle wont be able to do one, as the mass off him isnt muscle its pure fat.. compared to a skinny person who is nothing but skin muscle and bones..

this is just what i was saying at the start.. bar masters sort off prove how good bigger people can be..

I only have a door way bar in my house, so it isnt really 'wide grip' in comparison to what the gym has

Eh?

I was against what that other logan lad was saying at first?. I think iirc?.

All I was saying was the size of the person isnt always decisive in who does the more pull-ups / heaves, and the lads that are "bigger" than say, me for example arent necessarily "stronger", after that I lost interest as everyone jumped on the wagon.

Anyway quit the bu'shit and wack some vids up.
