Migraines
I've had 2 migraines in 6days, when I say Migraine, I mean blurry vision, dizzy, can't focus, numb fingers, cold sweat, slurry speech and a headache (the headache isn't actually that bad)
What can I do to prevent this, and what could it be?

What he said.
I used to get them VERY often, started as a headache then within a couple of hrs id seriously consider smashing my head on the floor for relief, finally a cold flannel and sleep, as soon as i woke up i used to throw up.
Try Paramol as a temporary relief followed with a nice wet flannel on your forehead and a nap, stay away from light an electrical appliances including the computer lol
Defo get your eyes checked, if symptoms persist go to your gp.

Drink lots of water, it can be to do with vision..for example is your vision good? or not particularly good, if so go to opticians get a check etc.
migraleve is what id take, when you feel a migrane coming (after a few times you can tell before you even get blurred vision) take a tablet go ly down somewhere quiet and darkened room then usually it goes.
hate it when i get them, knowing your gonna have a monster of a headache then throw up...kinda look forward to being sick so its over with then i can have some soggy toast

Treatment of migraine
Self-help
It's best to rest in a quiet, darkened room - try to sleep if possible. Try applying a hot or cold compress, such as ice or a bag of frozen peas, wrapped in a towel, to your head. Don't apply ice directly to your skin because you could damage your skin. Applying pressure to the pulse points on the side of your forehead or neck may also help.
Medicines
Treatments for migraine are generally more effective if you use them as soon as you know a migraine attack is coming on.
Medicines for migraine aren't suitable for everybody and can cause side-effects in some people. If you use any kind of painkiller for your migraine too frequently, it may become less effective and may cause medication-overuse headache.
Always read the patient information leaflet that comes with your medicine and if you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Over-the-counter medicines
Over-the-counter painkillers (such as aspirin, paracetamol and ibuprofen) may be effective in treating the headache symptoms of mild/moderate migraines. Soluble versions of these painkillers are absorbed more quickly and may work better than tablets.
Medicines containing anti-emetics (antisickness medicines) such as buclizine (eg Migraleve) may stop you feeling sick and vomiting and help your body absorb the painkillers more quickly and efficiently.
Triptans
Triptans are specifically used for migraine because they stop the effects of serotonin. Triptans are available as tablets, injections, nasal sprays or dissolvable wafers. They aren't suitable if you have had a heart attack or stroke, have high blood pressure, or are taking certain medicines. Common side-effects of triptans include dizziness, a feeling of pressure in the neck or chest area, feeling sick and vomiting.
There are many different triptans (including sumatriptan, zolmitriptan, naratriptan, rizatriptan, almotriptan, eletriptan and frovatriptan) and you may need to try several before you find one that works for you. Most triptans are only available on prescription. However, sumatriptan (Imigran) can be bought without a prescription following a consultation with a pharmacist.
Other prescription-only medicines
Your GP may also prescribe anti-emetics (eg metoclopramide and domperidone) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg diclofenac, tolfenamic acid).

Mate I get them aswell, I firstly get the blurry vision in my right eye, then cant focus, I get a cold sweat then I go home from work lye down in a dark and quiet room and TRY and goto sleep (oh and I do have slurry speech which is soooo annoying). Then the bloody headache kicks in and when I say kicked in woooaaah Its intense...and its so intense that you cant sleep when its sleep that you want/need lol then I puke a couple of times, wake up next morning and its usually gone! I went to my GP about it and they said as soon as you know your getting one(bluured vision) then take 3 asprin and a cup of STRONG black coffee with no sugar and will ease it! the aspirin will thin your blood while the caffeine will rush round your body quicker as most migrane medication has caffeine in it so it makes sense!!
Hope this helps

I get "Cluster Migraines" and they are an absolute nightmare. At the time i thought it might of just been where i was putting strain on my eyes. I have one horrendously lazy eye (which i was losing total sight in), and the other is short sighted (which i was getting tunnel vision in). I've never really needed my specs permanent, just for TV etc so I went to Specsavers and had a retest/new glasses and retinal photgraphy, they advised me to wear them perminantley as it might take some strain off the eyes but to go to my GP aswell. The GP prescribed me with tablets called "Pizotifen" which i was taking once a day, early evening (as they can make you drowsy), she also gave me tablets called "Imigran50" for instant relief. The Pizotifen kept them at bay for about 2 months along with the specs so i stopped using them, only for them to come back this week. Go to the GP mate, they'll give you the best stuff and it won't cost you anything.

Worked out mine was due to citrus acid. Stop having orange juice and oranges about 7 years ago now. Not had one since. Still get bad headaches but they are weak compared to the migraines I used to get.
