Maybe not the most powerful/quickest but one of the best sounding engines out there. I dont generally like golfs that much but theres a mk3 VR6 by me that sounds awesome

Yeah it's been widetracked then. Good stuff buddy I'll keep an eye on it.
The vr6 is just very throaty and basically sounds like god doing a fart (in a good way).
Heavy old lump though, cheap coilovers tend to struggle. I'd recommend Fk Konigsports.

MMMMM love mk2's! always wanted one with a 4wd Running gear + Bam engine. There was a lad down this way that had a white vr6 turbo mk2 with perpex windows + cage etc. it was an animal!
Good project choice!

He comes to our local meet. He cooked the engine on his last track day but I think he's rebuilt it now.

Ive still got some old videos on an old phone somehwere of it spanking 2 evo's and a skyline around J24! ill see if i can dig them out.
Was it a VR6 or a BAM engine?

I'm not sure as I never saw it with the bonnet up. Just remember it looking completely race spec from the outside

Went up to York drag strip last year and there was a vr6 mk2 stripped out turbo'd went to speak to the guy he had spent serious money was running 430bhp at the wheels, got a video of it destroying a tvr and evo I'll try dig em up.
