Exclamation I think my gear box has a leak.

How would I go about topping up my gear box oil ? I'm not sure how severe the leak actually is so ... alternatively, anyone on here who could fix gear boxes ?

yes, the case may really be about the worn-out seals. when my gearbox laked, my mechanic changed the seals right away, and then continued checking out the rest.

I'm not mechanically minded TBH. I know it's supposedly leaking since that's what the garage said and showed me. And it does stink outside of oil after being driven. Garage were gonna call me back with "the best course of action". Called them several times they said they'll call me back and didn't. Guess that means there's not enough money to time ratio in it for them or they need a gearbox specialist. Anyway. I've continued driving it very regularly regardless. The amount of leaks this things had all over had been a nightmare. Gonna need to consider a new car at this rate Always wanted to find a decent reliable mechanic who could sort my car without ripping me off but never did lol and Garages naturally rip you off

Gearbox seals from Citroen are £15.99 they are shared with the recent models so they still stock them. Then you are looking at around 2 hours labour to fit them. So even at Citroen you are looking at around £150 inc labour. Ask around friends and family some one will know a mechanic and it's something that can be done after work.
