Default bloody idiots using omex rev limiters

a suggestion, an instant ban and a slap round the head with some 4x2" for anyone asking about an omex rev limiter on a non carburettor equipped vehicle.

I see the point in them and if the users have them for launches on the strip then fair enough but the latest trend is people just being bellends trying to make pops and bangs.

i had/have on, had it set up when i had my 1.4 in just for bangs and pops but i havnt hooked it up onto my 16v lump, it pops and bangs enough with some juicy flames too

I don't have one and have noticed lots of people asking about them recently. But i don't see the big deal, they are good fun and Omex are making decent money from the trend too!!

600 series ecu

Much more fun for pops and bangs than a clubman

I'd have one. We all love pops and bangs really. This is just a fun way of getting them whenever we want. Sheesh.

For track use the omex rev limiter doesn't sap power if you hit it on track. The differences between ignition cut and fuel cut. This brings an enormous benefit at high revs on track.

You could just save the money and change gear properly though on track.

they use them quie a lot in grasstrack racing where the stock ecu has to be retained. the problem here is that in grasstrack the circuit varies between races as far as surface grip, and even track length if they make the corners bigger etc. so quite often the cars will buzz into the limiter. (these cars run in 2nd gear) the problem with some of the manufacturers ecus is the way the power cuts when it hits the limit, rather than a "bup-bup-bup-bup" it kills the engines power for a second before letting it run again.. costing speed. here they use the omex limiters to come in just before the manufacturers rev limit so that it can maintain a more consistent rev limit, and maintain vehicle speed.

Not quite that easy when manoeuvring a difficult corner while avoiding other traffic.

Tell me, have you driven on track before?

Wasn't trying to be patronising. Was genuinely interested.

The standard fuel cut limiters on most cars suck balls, omex eliminates this problem by cutting the spark instead, meaning you don't lose as much power if you were to hit the limiter.
