Default Absolutely had enough!!!

Just spent loads of money rebuilding my car, engine the lot, with a mechanic who knows exactly what hes doing. However when started it missfires (only when idling), the coolant temp light comes on after about 10 mins. Ive changed the plugs which made no difference either, then the thermostat and coolant sensor thats in the thermostat housing and when i started my car i forgot to put the coolant sensor plug in and there was no misfire, it sounded very healthy, but the coolant light came on. Tried it with the sensor plugged in and back to square one. Then tried it without and it was worse. Its runs fine when driven, no misfire, but the coolant light still comes on as always. We bled the coolant thouroughly. My mate/mechanic thinks its running lean because an injector is maybe blocked? Who Knows though! Its off to the garage tomorow for a wheelbearing and im going to get them to have a look at this unless someone has any ideas? Help would be much apprieciated!

got some ive just lost it and not had the money to get fuel, but will tomorow and im going to give it ago, cant see it sorting the coolant temp out though, although i have heard that when an engines running lean it runs hotter? Could the injector be the cause of both?

The coolant warning light even comes on when the gauge is really low. Is the gauge engine, oil or coolant temp. i Know the light is for coolant temp.

Well that picture says 4 tanks so 1/4 would be better.

Infact 500ml is designed for '4 tanks'. Thankfully it says that a 'tank' is 50 litres. Therefore, on the basis that 500ml is designed for 4, 50 litre tanks - they are saying 125ml for every 50 litres of petrol.

In other words 2.5ml of Redex for every 1 litre of petrol (which is a drop in the ocean by the way).

I think my saxo holds about 45 litres so 112.5ml is the amount you should use :-)

In all seriousness, ive never had an overdose Redex probelm, infact using it neat on thottle boddies and parts full of oil and crap cleans them a treat :-)

... im having a busy day.

did you check your plugs? also did you check to make sure that the coil pack is not fault?

also if they dont work then maybe check your compression!!

does the water boil over or does the gauge just read hot? did you check to see if the water is boiling over or just going on the gauge as you could have a fualty sensor or gauge!
