Yes. The dream is still alive!
I'll hopfully be trialling out SaxOli's ECU tonight. If this ECU does the business, I'll be happy (engine wise) to take the car to the ring. If it's still playing up, I've got bigger issues to be worried about.
Pug1Off have confirmed they can not do the iTB conversion in time for the ring trip, due to the lead time of the ATP bodies being 3 weeks. Anyway, I've paid a big deposit, and the bodies are on order! Woohoo.
Suspension wise, I still have no idea Kam is going to pull though on the AST parts. I've gone ahead and ordered the following bits from 106Parts today:
Drop links
Front wheel bearings
Trackrod ends
Ball joints
Alex is selling me a pair of wishboes which have some tasty solid steel Spoox competition rear bushes on them. So all these parts will be fitted prior to the ring. So I won't have the unlimate suspension done, but the car should be tip top nonetheless.
The dream continues.

Alex, you're coming to the ring with us? Coooool.
Thanks Andy.
Joe, no worries. Basically, car should be on ATP bodies, fully mapped with Emerald ECU in about 3 weeks. How cool!

Is your name dave? I keep forgetting, don't wanna keep calling you Toad lol
The wishbones could do with new balljoints but you can use them as they are if you want!
I can't fit wheel bearings(well i can but it's a ballache and much easier with a press)
And i can't fit balljoints(i get a mate with a press to do them but he's refusing to do any more since i broke his press at work doing the last pair)
Fingers crossed the ecu sorts it!

Ahh BUGGER!
/unlucky Alf
Popped SaxOli's ECU in. It didn't fire up first time. Second time fired OK. Tick over was a wee bit odd, but it settled soon. Could smell some rich burning too. Took it for a quick spin. It was driving fine, felt nice, but after about 2 mins of turning on the ignition, the management light flasshed a couple of times and then stayed on. Car still drove fine... Carried on driving and gave it a little welly, felt good, but then the managment light started flashing again, and stayed flashing. Then car went straight away in limp mode. Ahh bugger!
Put my ECU back in. Wouldn't start! Was just about to give up, when I realised that i had to plug the immobiliser back in. lol.
nearly got knicked on the way back, as came off the slip road onto the motorway over a tonne, passing a white van which happened to be a police car. Ooops. I caught me up rather quickly, but at the roundabout a slipped away, and he didn't chase... Phew
Oh well, could the dream be over?

the dreams never over !!
Keep going with it - pity the bodies and ECU couldn't be fitted in before the ring
(also I've just invested in a fidanza flywheel to go with the S1, got to stop looking at your progress thread )
