Default Gay cakes.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-10259865.html

Whichever way you slice it (pun intended) this is a clear victory for tyranny over liberty.

What do people think?

Or should I post something about crankshafts?

I don't see what the fuss is personally. If you're gay and want to get married then you should be allowed. What's the big deal?

It's a catch 22 to be fair.

I live in N. Ireland and can see both arguments but I still feel it is wrong to refuse custome.

1. It's a big bussiness so should cater for all.
2. If they had a sign on window advising they don't do religous etc. cake's there wouldn't have been an issue.
3. This is against the cake maker's religius beliefs.

If it was a Muslim cake shop and I went in and asked for a cake of a pig I'm sure I'd get told where to go, and I'm sure it'd go in the favour of the Muslim. One rule for one and all that.

It should be down to the business owner. I wouldn't want to run a shop where I have no say in what I can and can't do. Like freedman said if you went into a muslim shop and asked for bacon/ thongs/ alcohol etc you would get told what to do.

I think it actually goes against freedom of speech and belief as it goes against the shopkeepers beliefs. I hate liberals.

Yes, but you'd be doing that specifically to mock their beliefs, whereas the gay cake thing was causing no harm to anyone. It was just supporting 2 gay people. Being gay isn't something someone can choose - you either are gay or you aren't, and as a society we should learn to accept that.

You are comparing something someone believes in, to something that somebody is.

You wouldn't get a gay cake at a Muslim cake shop as that's against their beliefs too.

The worlds gone mad, and soft

That's not strictly true.

Getting married is a lifestyle choice. The cake was being used to promote that, meaning it should be down to the baker whether he chooses to support it, not the law to enforce it. The message on the cake is nothing more than political propaganda.

The baker should not have been done for discrimination in my opinion, if the cake was for the gay couples wedding cake then yes potentially however as it was being used to spread propaganda that they don't believe in, surely they should have had the right to refuse.

Gay marriage should obviously be legal and as we saw with the vote the majority of people have the sense to realise that, unfortunately there will still be that small religious minority who think it's acceptable that they can marry the person they love but somebody else can't, think they need to pack their bags and piss off to Putin.
