Default Vts gearbox code location

Just been trawling for the last couple of hours trying to see if the VTS gearbox codes are located anywhere else other than on the square block, I purchased a VTS gearbox for my 106 GTI and this evening I had a look for the code normally located on the rectangular block but unfortunately there is no code present.

The box has been refurbished (prior to me getting hold of it) and is fully painted so don't want to strip all the paint off If I can help it.

Anyone know if the codes were located anywhere else on the gearbox other than on the block? I've gone through the gear ratios and they seem to as per VTS ratios according to a ratio chart found on the forum.

There are some date markings cast into the casing suggesting it was manufactured in 2000 and next to this there is 2 ES 3 (possible just casting numbers)

Yeah some of them are just blank, good luck!

Just have to check the ratios manually by rotating the input shaft and measuring the angle the diff turns in a few gears. 1st, 2nd and 5th would be enough.
