Why are there extra pages at the end of some threads like this one, there are 4 pages displayed but only 3 pages worth of posts?

I have noticed it doesn't delete pager messages, but you can do them yourself.

Click onto 'Pager Messages', tick the box at the top so it selects ALL messages and then delete.
