Okay, so it appears that we'd put the front discs on the wrong way round, doh, so that got rectified at the weekend. Not by me, I was just there watching, which was nice.

Also because I'm lame I managed to get the wrong alternator, so that's was a no go!

My mates then pressed on and fitted my group N engine mounts and group A gearbox mount, whilst I tried to suck brake fluid out of the reservoir using a crude udder like device fashioned from an Asda sarnie box and a surgical grade rubber glove.

My engine used to rock a bit, probably because ALL 3 of the existing mounts were split, however the engine no longer moves, AT ALL!

it looked easy enough to do the top ones, there was much swearing getting the bottom one off, the difference is insane though

I would get a set asap!

Well, not much updating but a lot going on in the garage, the new alternator is on, and the brakes are off, some bits snapped off I admit.

But time to tart the calipers up before the braided lines and new fluid go on / in!

I love plastikote! zinc primer, enamel for the calipers, and gloss for my wishbones!

How have I just discovered these!

Made very light work of the paint

Before and after on the rears!

A front wil the manky red paint gone

An almost completed front, I ran out of paint but it will give me a chance to take out some imperfections first, they sort of match the yellow "S" on the VTS badge, well, ish

Okay so a lot has been done over the weekend, some by me, lots by a friend!
I took Friday off to get some work in for Sunday

Firstly I managed to lock the keys in the car with it running!

I dediced to bite the bullet and smash the pas quarter window out, so sheet on the floor, tape all over the window, wheelbrace no joy, wrench no joy, however it did pop open as I was attackign it with the wrench, so I sawed through the closing mechanism then reached in and took the 2 hinge screws out!

Next my headlights went the journey to make way for my Morettes, I also removed the fog lights to make space for some ducts

The next 3 hours and 1 gigantic can of WD40 were used to remove my front brake lines so I coudl get my braided ones fitted properly on sunday!

Finally I lashed some more buttercup enamel on my brakes, it ran, I swore, I went home crying

Sunday!

First off the EGR was binned, all pipes and the pump, it weighed in at 2.4kg!

it also seemed to leave a load of room in the bay!

Next Matt cracked on using man tools and got my Spoox goup N'd wishbones on, and also my OMP lower brace for good measure, oh and my front brakes!

Exact braided lines, MTEC drilled and grooved discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads, 266mm brakes, it should stop!

Braceness :

All in all a good weekend, I managed to diagnose the faulty ABS sensor as the drivers front too, so all of the bits I need for next weekend have already been sourced!

Well I wanted rid of them for weight, but now they'll just cause drag I guess, so was thinking about fitting some 6*3 ducts behind them and some ducting into the wheel arches, it's probably a terrible idea but it's worth a shot.

Failing that I could just route them into the bay?

ITs a good idea IMO...just wondering which ducts you were going to use.....I want mine to look OE if poss, routing the ducting to the brakes.

Be a bit easier for me to route though.....something quite big missing from the engine bay in mine...lol
