Default Help please....

Hi,

I wonder if anyone could help me re my 2003 Saxo, 1.1 petrol. Recently I've had trouble getting it to start, or rather it starts briefly but cuts out straight after. If you keep trying and rev it as you turn the key, it sometimes catches and will drive. It's been getting progressively worse so today we took it to ATS who put it on the diagnostic machine... Short story, £160 later, a new coil pack and spark plugs later we drove to the supermarket from the garage only to come out and have exactly the same problem. We took it back to ATS who stuck to their original diagnosis despite not having fixed the problem and suggested a different garage that would have time to do more in depth checks..we drove there to find it closed. Having almost had to call the breakdown service when it wouldn't restart on the way home we got back and had a nose under the bonnet ourselves... I've attached pics. It looks like this hose thing has snapped off....I haven't a clue what it is, what it does and whether if we can start the car, it's safe to drive back to the garage. I phoned ATS who said they couldn't comment over the phone and would call back which they didn't. Any help would be much appreciated...with regards to what this part is and also any ideas as to what original problem could be.

Thanks in advance.

That would be the oil breather line to the filter.
Cant see why that would cause problems unless its causing loss of presure.
You can get a cheap after market one off eBay for around 5 quid. It just fits on the pipe or take the pipe off. Then just bung up your filter. See if that helps. Dont hold me too it though.

EBay serch

thats not your issue

its sounds like it could be fuel related imo.. ive had similar issues with cars/vans in the past where either a fuel filter was blocked or water in tank/lines etc.. something to that effect

try removing the fuel filter and checking it

and daft question.. are your spark plugs ok?
