Be aware also some people advise fitting the j4 rear water flange... Mines on its second one, the angle the port comes out of the engine are different. Jp4 is angled so when I fit my j4 one which aligns flat causes a leak. Jp4s this is, can I ask have any of you used the jp4 flange ok?

Hello
What did you do with your exhaust? Do the studs come at the right position? What about exhaust openings?

good guide, thank you! I have a question, why do you use the old manifold? I think the jp4s manifold is way better than the old plastic one!

Dont you use the old mani due to needing the connections for the throttle cable, as the C2 uses fly-by-wire rather than cable.

Im thinking of trying to get hold of a JP4s from a VTS c2. Is there a difference in BHP etc from the normal J4?

Any idea of the oil filter thread torque value? Just want to be sure it won't come off,you could use 2 nuts to tighten it using a spanner.

Has the alloy sump got to be removed or can you not just cut the tag off to allow it to fit?

My first thread here :-)
I have not fitted the alloy sump, I kept the iron one from my 8V, which I had baffled.

alloy sump will foul any manifold made for a j4 engine --so yes it has to go --unless you are into alloy welding and want to modify it

I did this conversion and yes it does give a little more power, not that much but still...
one question though, i have it running with the jp4 head and the j4 cams... my idle is a bit rough. Is it normal or do i have to worry about it.

To the guys that did this conversion too: how is your idle?

greetings
