Trackday exhaust
I've got a Saxo VTS which I use for trackdays.
It is currently standard in every way, but even though I had every intention of keeping the car standard I'm thinking about slowly tuning it up.
I was wondering what exhaust systems out there are good and quiet?
My engine will no doubt end up a full high comp, jenvey itb, newman ph4, bigger valved VTS, but to begin with I'm just looking at an exhaust.
I was looking at a Saxsport but my local track is Bedford, but with their low noise limit and hearing about the problems 'Planet Sax' is having I'm having second thoughts on that.
I was also thinking about a Magnex system as the have a centre box.
Also wondering what manifolds are best, I was looking at BTB or supersprint
Any advise or experience based opinions would be greatfully recieved.
Cheers

i dont care what anyone says, a supersprint race will be too LOUD for track days, its stupidly loud when decatted.
The best option is either going for a kam racing one ( nice tone to it, stainless, good gains etc, and its legal for track use) or go for a magnex... deep quietish tone untill you boot it.
BTB are rare and i dont like them anyway.

I wasn't looking at a supersprint exhaust system, just a manifold as I got good power out of one on my old Satin Black project.
I was looking at Kam Racing system, but it doesn't seem to have a centre box, are they quiet enough for Bedford Aerodrome?
As I said, my main 2 concerns are
1: Quiet enough to run on strict noise limit circuits
2: Capable of producing good power on a good engine

Kam racing is supersprint basically, all system will be ok, just use a middle box and they be fine for track days.

Cool, I'll just see what middle boxes are about?
Is the standard exhaust bore upto the job of high power?
If so I will see if you can still get a standard exhaust from citroen or if they sell pattern parts

Hmm what sort of power you looking at a kam racing with middle box would be good for standard engine to about 180 n/a I believe a good save bet dude.

What centre box section are you recommending?
I'm hoping to beat my last figure of 176hp so I'm hoping for 180hp+ (solid litters, bigger valves etc)
As I said in my original post I can do a full saxsport system as they don't have a centre box and it will (when higher tuned) fail noise at Bedford!!

How about a supersprint centre section mated with the standard backbox?

beanie i have a stainless scorpion mid pipe £25 (i live 20 mins from cadwell)
i do have a little issue but i will be going back to bedford, as said there is 4 noise mic's at beddy gt and only one of them is frustrating having to lift. its not that much of an issue, id spec up whatever you want, go to the track, learn where they are and work your way up the revs.

supersprint or kam as long as centre boxed
Planet saxx iirc is now on itbs so theres his noise issues i think a saxsport should be ok my pugsport wasnt that loud before i went on itbs
basically though any decat boxed system will be fine

As I said I'll be going high comp and itb, and I don't want to have to change my exhaust once my engine is built!?
Cool, so just basically I need any exhaust I want so long as it's got a centre box.
Cheers sexy, but cadwell is nowhere near local to me lol!
I'd REALLY rather not have to lift at Bedford if possible!

My VTS with Raceland mani and Piper exhaust (centre section has a large middle box, 50mm tailpipe on backbox) was measured at 81db at Cadwell. Quiet with all the gains - ideal imo.
Saxsports seem very loud imo.

How about a twin box Magnex with a Magnex silenced de cat pipe for the optimum in quiet exhausts?
I spied the de cat pipe for sale on here and almost bought it myself but dont need to now.

Also i have a twin box Magnex for sale.

Ads for a manifold you cant go wrong with a Raceland surely?

I think kam is only loud when used with a straight midpipe. By the sounds of it. A local lad has a straight through and kam bb and its very lout.

indeed are, but a middlw box on any system will bring the noise down.

For an good quiet system this is the best on the market I think. Backing off is rubbish. You dont have to make your ears bleed to sound good and you can drive flat out at any circuit. We use the Supersprint centre pipe with silencer and our KR backbox which is a larger diameter so has more silencing material.
You have to remember with ITB's that the induction noise will up db's on the drive by sound monitoring.
KAM Racing backbox and supersprint mid silencer.
