Default vts cams, high lift or not ?

Okay I'm half way through rebuilding my 2000 vts engine as a conversion I'm doing, the engine was in my old vts until I broke it for parts. It was completely standard and compared to my brothers 106 gti with a bmc, supersprint mani and pugsport it would eat it alive.

So the question I've been asking myself is if its cammed, I've got the cams in front of me but they haven't got markings on either end of the exhaust or the inlet. But they do have some numbers on the shafts between the lobes

Inlet its got; 41 6 9 66
Exhaust its got; 41 6 9 66

I don't know much about cam shafts but I've done some research and still can't find anything. Any help would be great

It hasn't as many miles on as my engine, had 125mph in 5th and it was on the limiter.

No doubt I'll be getting the job of rebuilding that one next as something isn't right.

Every vts has cams, it's just a shame most are cams that come with the car as standard. Because race car y0

GTi is slower on paper as it had more fuel/passengers.

The gearboxes are the same.

vts/gti box's are the same. Also 125 in 5th on the limiter is abit low? should be more than that

maybe your brothers gti has had its gearbox replaced with a vtr one at some point

there shouldnt be a difference. they both weigh nearly the same. Yeah the vts has more plastic on it for the vt kit but that cant be much of a difference at all

As said every VTS has cams and a remap by old owner, funny enough i was looking through ebay today at vts's and..

Engine has fast road cams fitted and ecu remapped
i have just had it looked over by a mechanical friend and he says it it verry good condition mechanically, he changed all the fluids in the car and gave it a full service but as it was a cash job have no recepits.

i dont have anyproof of this but you can tell by the condition and how it drives it been very well looked after has no service history.. you can tell by the condition of the engine its beenm very well looked after

This pretty much sums up every vts for sale ad, somehow theyve all magically been cammed even though the rocker covers have never been off

bad points:
engine managment light is on because the lamba sencor but this is because of the straight threw exhaust system can get poof if wanted
brakes slightly worped <
boot needs re alining
needs a few body work clips
headlights are cable tied them in but still work fine so i neva bothered geting new ones

In short its been ragged all its life been crashed and now its for sale lol.
