Time Attack Snetterton
Snett, me nemesis circuit, the one I hate... we all know why!
Having prepared the car with time to spare before the event (unusual lol), at 5am, the team and I headed over to Snetterton circuit for round 2...
Arriving at 07:30 we located our garage (17) and set up.
The car passed scruitineering, only I was told I must replace my race boots before the next round (Brands Hatch Indy). Theyre old, and I glue the soles back on them after every event
After the boys (Matt and Martin) checking the car over I head out for the 1st session of the day.
Session 1, Warm UP.
I head out onto a sunny welcoming Snetterton 200 circuit for the first time since September last year.
Enjoying the new Ferodo UNO pads gifted to us by HiSpec Motorsport I'm feeling confident in the car straight away.
Completing the session with a 1:25.081 (2016 final time being 1:24.141).
After checking the car over, I'm ready for the next step...
Session 2 Practice
Heading out for the 2nd time of the day I cant wait to improve on the lap time...
Only a few laps in there is a Red flag that stops the session, turn one is covered in soil after a car span out bringing a unsafe amount of dirt back on track. This is quickly cleaned up and the session continues.
Another Red flag, 2 cars off needing recovery, this ended the session with barely a hot lap attempted.
best lap this session a 1:25.164 (4th in class but didn't represent pace as no competitors had a fair shot at a proper lap)

Would you believe it I actually ate a whole meal and kept it down

Session 3 Qualifying
Determined that no Red flags are going to catch me out this time as soon as I have warmed the car up I'm on it, no messing here.
on lap 8 I manage a 1:23.842 but its scruffy..
We have another Red flag and then chance for one more lap after an out lap...
Its a good lap 1:22.657 big improvement
Sadly only enough for 7th! the leader had gone 1:19.820 and its a previous employee of GMC Motorsport! Martyn Henry in his 390wheel power Astra VXR!
Headed back into the garage we have cv grease everywhere!
The outer CV Boot clip had failed and covered the near side brake disc and caliper.
After cleaning up the mess and replacing the Drive Shaft for a spare, by the time we had cleaned the side of the car (covered in cv grease lol) its time for the final
Session 4 Final
After the disappointing 7th in qually I wanted to score some good points. I am prepared to push myself and the car harder than ever.
GoPro at the ready, fuelled up ready to improve on 1:22.657
Early on I produce a 1:22.653 lol
Then a slower 1:23.837
And out of no where a 1:21.797
Feeling like I can improve more but have unbelievable bad luck with traffic, a Red flag that's the session ended.
5th place is our result. 0:00.200 off 4th and 0:00.900 from podium 3rd
1st place was a 1:20.291
So we come home with no trophy this time, but happy with the lap.

I have already started to address some more improvements for the next round, Brands 24th June (not long!)
