Default Boot not unlocking

Hi I have a problem with my boot not unlocking when I unlock the doors on my car it only unlocks the boot when I insert the key and hold it in the unlock position and press the black button in at the same time. Then when I close the boot it locks again and need to repeat the previous step.. just wondered why this is like this and if it shouldn't be then what is the problem... any advice appreciated! Cheers Callum

Sent from my SM-A217F using Tapatalk

sounds like the lock or the electric solenoid is jammed.

take off the boot trim and look at the lock barrel. It's probably rusty or might even have snapped bits of plastic on it.

I've had this in the past, the solenoid which unlocks it got stick. I removed it from the car, sprayed it with WD40 and worked it free. Never caused me an issue again.

I'm guessing I just take off the plastic on the boot and the solenoid is in there

Sent from my SM-A217F using Tapatalk
