When i did my insurance with Flux, they said to me cosmetic modifications didnt add anything to the price. mine only went up when i added the zorst, manifold and airfilter. when i added the cage and flocked bits it didnt move.

I know insurance quotes have gone up but that's a joke. And it's not gonna get any cheaper than flux in this case. Oh well. At least it will be a proper track car

Tbh, keep this as a track only car, get an old fiesta or something just to drive around in. Will give you more spare cash to spend on the sax at least
Insurance on a saxo at 17 is always going to be sky high. It has gone up a lot recently though. I remember when i was about 14/15 i was messing around on autotrader, and i found a quote for a 17 year old with a toyota supra at £2000 a year.... Now a 1.1 saxo would be £2000 a year
Just build the no claims up... It'll be below 2k in no time

Thanks for the sympathy. I guess it isn't too bad. Just still pissed off that i built a car i can't use for it's initial purpose. I will still get flux temp cover for the odd day every now and again though.

Is taking the cage out an option? I'm guessing that's the main issue right?
If you're not gunna be driving it on the road.... 16V?

No that's definately not an option it i all welded together and welded to the car and the rear beam mounts. It's in.
And looking on the bright side 16v is it's destiny.

I was never expecting miracles. I was just expecting something not quite as horrific.

+1
standard 1.1's for a 17year old are enough of a rip off.
yet everyone seems suprised that a 17 year old with a furio + cage and various mods etc is hard to insure
