Interesting PC problem - some help pls!
I think I've picked up some Trojans or some other malicious software on my PC.
Have just run a full scan, which took an hour and a half, and it found 3 trojans / backdoors, and says it removed them, but I think there's something else lurking.
I'm normally pretty good at sorting things like this, but I'm stumped today because I'd normally search for a tool to clean up my PC, but whatever I have got now won't let me search for anything, on Google or Bing.
If I search, I get the usual results, which all look to be normal, but if I click on one, 2 windows open - firstly, some random website like health & nutrition, or watch imports, or some other boring crap. The second window that opens is always Ebay.
Anyone have any suggestions how I get around this? I can't obviously get anywhere to download software to fix this, so what do I do?
By the way, all my bookmarks are working fine, which is how I got to Sax-p.
HELP!

Hey, another one... In short: format, reinstall and change all your internet passwords

Have you checked your hosts file to see if any traffic entries are being redirected from there?

was just about to say that..... Often malicious programs add entries to the hosts file.
Basically meaning when you type google or bing in, instead of using DNS it uses the dodgy IP adresses that are added to your hosts file.
Basically if this is the case, delete all of them apart from the loop back 127.0.0.1 save and you should be good. It wont get redirected each time.
Obviously, as stated though, if you feel things are that bad you're best of with a format clean install. Although i know in some circumstances this isnt an option.
