Exhaust's
Hi Guys...
Today I had my new back box fitted and my GOD its loud.
It stick's out the end of the bumper so it's not as if it's behind the bumper!
The cabin noise when lifting off and even driving normally can sometimes get unbarable and it mostly always pops. Is this because it's a brand new back box? Do back box's need time to wear in then they will gradually quiet down?
I have all the standard exhaust apart from the 4" back box which is why im surprised at the loudness of it!!
I'd say out of 10 for noise it's about a 8 and thats in the cabin
So here are a few questions im intrested in finding out...
On a scale of 1 to 10 what would you rate your exhaust to be in terms of loudness
Do you prefer loud or quiet
And will a bigger back box have any other bad effect's on the rest of the exhaust i.e mainly the cat?
Thanx

Always like a nice exhaust but as soon as motorway driving 70mph becomes boomy thats the line for me.
An excessively noisy exhaust isn't something I'd personally like, and neither would any of my passangers, but a nice free-er flowing system with a distinctive (but not intrusive) growl is perfect IMO...
If its a bit much for you mate then get rid I'd say, plenty of others out there that would suit you better.

Id rate mine about a 8.5 for loudness. Its ok if your driving correctly but if your idle and at low low revs it gets a little loud and moterway is loud haha
I would also like to know if it will quiten down as mine is fairly new...

ive got a 4" peco backbox, probably 8/10 loudness. at first i hated it but after laying sound deadening in the boot and a layer of fibreglass insulation under the boot carpet, iv gotten used to it and love the sound at high revs. except on motorways wear the passengers ears start to bleed
