Default A quick run over cleaning and protection solutions

I've been looking at cleaning and protection solutions over the past couple of weeks and of course come across wax and polish. Now I've got an idea of the purpose of wax, a barrier against the sun, contaminants and what ever likes to cause damage to your paint work. However, I am not too certain on the use of polish other than a spanking shine so if someone is able to give me a run down of the cleaning and protection solutions in general so I have something to search on, I would appreciate it.

In addition to this I have come across other protective solutions however thought a wax or polish would be more than suitable?

Thanks,

Clarkie

Have a read through the polish guide on my site - it explains all the steps and what all the polish products are and what they do.
