Default Dan's B18 EG Civic :)

So sold the Jordan and went to pick this up Sunday, not got any pretty pictures yet not even got to give it a good wash because weather has been so shite, guy I bought it off owned it for 4 years built it and did a few trips to the ring and then decided he was going to turbo it but never bothered anyway spec:

B16B head
B18c4 block
S4C LSD box
Shite induction kit
Buddy club spec 2
EK9 ecu

EK9 5 stud conversion
EK9 steering rack
EK9 front and rear brakes
EK9 front and rear ARB's
DC2 hard race engine mounts
EK9 Quickshift
Braided clutch line
Braided brake lines
Spoon coilovers

98 spec DC2 wheels
Spoon spoiler
EG6 Lip
Full respray in evo palmer red

Main plans are to get it mapped asap vtec comes in at 5.5k but has a flat spot till around 6.5k then pulls hard to 9k it's not slow but could be better, also want a new car back system the exhaust is the loudest thing I have ever heard its makes gunshot noises that literally scare people including me, won't be long till neighbours complain, went in gym last night and someone decided to key all my bonnet too cunts 😡.

Plans:

Get it mapped
New cat back system
50/50 Rear lights
Amber corners
New front bumper and lip
New spoiler or get it carbon dipped
Carbon bonnet
JDM boot
Jap plates
Recaros probably evo one's
New steering wheel

By far my favourite thing so far is the split boot (small things please small minds lol)

Would love to have a go against this. I know I'd lose, just want to know by how much! Haven't come into contact with a B18 swap yet. Looks lovely too bud.

I've always really liked the look of these, got myself an EP3 though instead. What sort of bhp does that engine put out then? What car is it from?

It's a ek9 head mate with a b18 bottom end out of a 1.8 civic saloon or aerodeck, it's as quick as my teg, will be better once mapped and I'll have a solid figure then, only weighs 970kg so that helps alot !

nice little car this, tasteful and purposeful mods too. Should imagine this is easily in the 200bhp range and only pulling 970kg around bet it flies, easily destroy a clio or most other hot hatches to be honest!

It does go quite well tbh, just on par with the teg atm, needs a dc2 map uploading hopefully that will get rid of the flat spot, honestly mate I cannot explain how loud buddyclub exhausts are such a waste of money can't wait to get rid of this, skunk2 mega power I had on my old civic sounded really nice but not stupidly loud and spoon system on teg sounded well too think I'll be going for that again.

Thanks mate to be honest this car has been built for handling but it shifts in a straight line.

Yeah I think the spec ones are but I'm going for the newer Pro Spec which I think are loud, but not do-your-head- in sport of loud: just the level I'm after.

Will be interested to see what you do on this one then, I do like the look of these and EK's.

Thanks for kind comments bit of a update had this week off work so tried to crack on abit.

So main priority was shut the thing up so purchased a catback off a guy off Facebook he reassured me it would fit, problem was exhaust flange manifold size was 45° off and the hangers were about 2" out, so after a lot of cutting and fucking about managed to get the backbox to fit the buddyclub centre section and result is:

I think it looks better in person comes up and out looks good imo and it's different.

In other news I have given her a full service seems it was well over due, also when I replaced the oil filter I noticed that the fuel pipe to the fuel rail was perished so I replaced that, also gave a full interior and exterior detail it's spotless, also put a 02 spacer on to try get rid of engine light but that's another story.

In more important news when I bought the car I was told the engine light was on because of the decat so I bought a 02 spacer, but engine light was still on, so bridged to ecu, to read the codes and it's throwing 2 slow 3 fast so 23 that is knocksensor.

The ecu is looking for a knock sensor but because of the b18c4 end there is no knock sensor so that's 100% the reason for the annoying flat spot, I have a few options get a p28 h tune ecu because they don't look for a knock sensor or other option is a knock sensor bypass read of a few people doing it on the American civic forum but it's number 1 priority at the moment.

Feeling accomplished went for a ice cream.

Also won an award on detailing world for the beading on my car

They only had rainbow sprinkles and I was having a manly day fixing my car so I had to refuse

Thanks yeah very pleased so far, when the knock sensor problem is fixed I'll be chuffed, if you flick the ignition on and off while your driving it switches engine light off for around 30 seconds and there's no flat spot and it really does shift very quickly, it's quick now but very quick without knock sensor cel on but it drives spot on though and i always look back at it when I walk away so it's good yeah very pleased.

Right not a massive update but deffo the most important to me, did a 4 hour round trip this to go pick up a socketed p28 it's got a map on it for a b16a head and c4 bottom end, got a 8200rpm redline too so it's not ideal, just as my cams are about to peak it hits redline, will be getting it mapped next month need to decide who by though.

All that said its very fast now, had a little do with my mates ep3 lightly modded on a private road and pulled around 6 car lengths to 120 so very very pleased, oh it's got launch control mapped in at 4.2k too works well in dry, not so well in wet.

No pictures really

Probably won't be some updates for a while had a heavy bankholiday weekend and blew way too much maybe small things plates, lights etc.

Only really 2 mappers I would trust with it. Tai north, bit of a drive but their knowledge is next to none, they fitted my k pro and they mapped my ek9 too, and there is rs tuning in Leeds who are also shit hot, so two good tuners. If I was you I'd be getting it live mapped as the standard map most tuners give out kills the vtec and literally feels like a normal car.
