new gear
today i bought myself
a lowepro mini trekker AW
a sigma 70-200 f2.8 (on back order from sigma)
now i need a flash and thinking i might get a battery grip also.
what people think of a 430 ex ii flash for my 40d and wheres the cheepest i can find one warehouse express is 200pounds
also on ebay i can get a 3rd party battery grip for about 60pounds is it worth it?

personally I am not a fan of my 430, I much prefer to use my 580mkII. Although i use my flash weekly for paid work so I can justify the extra money for it. What are you wanting the flash for, as most people can probably get by ok with the 430ex.
Ill be in enfield most days again soon training, so I can bring my 430/580 down for you to try out of you want
Personally I dont like battery grips, some people love them, some people loathe them. If you think you would need one go for it, although research that the one you are looking at wont cause error99, as some 3rd party stuff seems to do this

cheers ryan. well the flash was realy just to complete my kit and as i been going out abit with my mate to try some still stuff ect was thinking it would be quite cool to learn how to use one and when ect.
the minitrekker looks a realy good bag. realy pleased with it.
cheers for the info on researching of the battery grip ill deff have a look into that. what about 3rd party batteries? there many problems with them?

I have known of cheap batteries throwing errors again.
Mine work fine, as does sayers I belive. All depends on where they are from and how cheap imo

hey dude, i got a 430 II flash gun, used it like twice on commision shoot, pm me if you are interested, i dont use it so needs to go... take it from there.

any chance of a pic of the mini trekker with your gear in?
i think i need a bigger bag, or a bigger brain to work out how to fit all my stuff in!
edit: let me know what you think of the 430 as its next on my list of things to buy...

i currently use a lowepro flipside 300 and i don't think it will take my sigma 24-70 and either a canon 70-200 or sigma 70-200 (yet to decide which to buy)
