Lol, it's still not as mint as your hair do Rush! I will of course be driving it, but it will be well looked after and cleaned a lot etc. Afterall, it's a lot of money 'invested' in it too. It's a toy for me but also something that's taken me a lot of time and effort to create (what with the years invested in the saxo etc). I see it as a part of my life if that makes sense...sounds sad but it's years of my life in these french shit boxes!

You are a little whore Lewis.

I reckon you will give it around 5 hours of cleaning for every 1 hour it gets driven!

I want to do the same with mine, but 1) I seem to have so little time nowadays, and 2) The weather has just been so bad. I really want to get a lockup like Lee and Matt have.

Bump deserved here lewis, remember reading through your saxo progress years back thinking nothing will ever beat it, in fact sure i saved pretty much every picture and showed it my mates who were into cars and we just drooled all over it, then what happens? You got buy a mint 106 and make it ever better and dare i say miles miles miles better then the Saxo.

No expense spared anywhere on this project and it is just truly amazing attention to detail is top class. Has to be the car of the year for the next 5 years by the sounds of it.

Can't wait to read and update Lewis buddy keep it up!

Hello Lads - thanks for the kind comments so far.

Sorry it's been ages since an update but the car is still at Bob's as we've had a lot of teething issues to work through! That coupled with the fact Bob was ill over xmas has caused delay, but we are back on track now and she's nearly ready so i'm told.

Had issues with the STACK dash firstly, so it had to go back to STACK to be recongiured, software update basically, then I had to buy new sensors etc etc. The small oil leak turned out to be a crack in the sump so that had to come off and be rewelded, then pressure tested, then painted and refitted - that's now done. Also had the clutch issues which turned out to be the release bearing, so had to take off the gearbox a few times to get that sorted - but it's now done.

Bob's just been finishing off the dash wiring and fitting the speed sensor this week. I am planning to get some shorter coilover springs too and have Bob fit them, so it may be another week until I get the car back. She's getting there though!! Once I have it back I just need to get the exhaust sorted out and it'll be ready to rock (all being well of course!) I am just a little paranoid as i've had so many issues to date! :oh:

What did you expect Lewis? your always going to have small issues here and there on a brand new build like this....

It sounds like your getting through the little niggles nicely tho. How long until you get the exhaust and get it on the road roughly?

& whats the plan, start up soon, few track days to get used to it then the ring in the summer?
