I have a local race car builder (GWR) going to make a carbon front spoiler/splitter for my 106, i'll see what he says about a diffuser once he's made the first bits.
If he's interested i'll let him have a look at the Saxo too.

He's making me a lightweight exhaust with c/f silencer too.

I assume if he wants to make a batch a few of you guys will want one?

That astra is crazy since it got hold of that btcc kit. Then the custom undertray to finish it off. luckily its time attack not endurance. bet that thing would boil under there after a while

GWR is doing the front spoiler/splitter for me in either f'glass for £80 or £150 in wet lay c/f... pretty cheap i'd say.

I'll let you guys know about a diffuser in due course.

I,m on your side --tried all that long time ago on an ax we raced --made complete ally under panel to flatten floorwith air dams and tunnel etc --result was not noticable ,even on race track --reason --car canot be made low enough to have any effect .all it does was make it a bugger to service anything and brakes started to overheat as air flow in front archs was totally different --car needs to be travelling at 150mph to make any significant difference .
as for rerar spoilerstheir were some made in late 90,s for the saxo ,all it did was knock 10mph of the top speed --you haven,t enough bhp to start wasting it with aero,s .
never tried a front splitter due to the fact that to get a good lap at knockhill you need to jump the kerbs,or you did in those days before track was snaitised for the pussies in the touring cars ,and it wouldn,t have lasted one race before getting knocked of fby the kerbs or the inevitable first lap dogems .even lowering the car to the minium possible with the std type suepension there was no great diff in lap times ,but a big difference in how hot the driveshafts got ,due to the angle ,even after rotating the whole engine to get the shafts at a better angle
i would say though that rotating the engine on the mounts when running -70mm ,on an ax made another 5bhp at the wheels though ,but its alot of work as nothing std fits any more ,even the oil pickup+ sump needed changing and extra drain holes in the head and dif shape ex manifold + gear linkage

I agree with you about going to the extremes of a flat under belly and diffuser, but what about just cutting out the rear bumper surely once the spare wheel is removed you've effectively got an air brake even at 80mph it wouldn't it start to drag?

looks a bit ugly in some eyes but I guess you may save another 100grammes in the pursuit of power to weight

The clio 200's diffuser creates 40kg of downforce at 70mph i think it is and more at higher speeds...

40KG? Any actual proof on this? Or is it just what someone has come out with?
