Default Ralley inlet

If I was to put a ralley inlet on my 1.4i what modifications would I have to do to make it fit? And what sort of performance gain would there be?

btw my 1.4 already seems to be faster than it should be, it says in Parkers 10.8 but mine does it in about 9 secs.

A sensor needs modified to fit and also the throttle cable iirc. how did you measure this 9 seconds?

have a search I don't have first hand experience with this mod but it's ment to be a great mod.

I wouldn't bother counting tbh you could be 2-3 seconds out lol then there is you're speedo being out too

good noise, you need proper equiptment to measure 0-60's etc

Ive found out that you need a longer throttle cable off a diesel. Dunno about the sensor yet

Its always been a quick thing, just 1st 2nd whoomf and its at 70. I cruise about 105 when conditions permit

to fit the ralllye inlet you need a 106 throttle cable, diesel is best choice as youve posted
you need to drill and fit your MAP sensor into the inlet,
and you need to drill and fit the ICV into inlet
you also have to drill/burr out the bottom on the inlet mani to allow the injector loom to pass through it
and clip and splice or create/modify an added section of loom for the TPS

you then have to make sure all unused inlet/outlets on the inlet an tb are plugged/fitted up, to stop drawing in air anywhere around the set up

it sounds alot of work, but really isnt that hard

does the inlet not have these things already? Surely it has a MAP sensor and an ICV etc

read above mate lol

rallye is alot older then the sax, does have a form of icv/stepper, but the olde pug type is totally diff to the newer citroen one, pug one is on the tb, saxo one fits the inlet..

these have been known to be quite hard to get running right on saxos, i had issues with mine which turned out to be air leaks, anything that makes fitting/running easier is a plus yes? so fit any of the citroen related sensors you can

I read above the first time, on mine the ICV and the TPS are both on the throttle body. Will the Sax TB not fit onto the inlet?

what year is the car you fitting? and model? furio or 1.4i?

sax tb wont fit without a fair bit modifying no matter what model you have, but you need to do/fit what i posted earlier, otherwise you wont get it to run

Its a 1.4i SX. Wot if the inlet came with its own TB, would it not be easier to splice on different connectors if there were different?

you dont want to buy an inlet without tb if you cant get it mated, which isnt easy unless youve got decent tools and knowledge/friends with such

not farmiliar with 1.4sx inlet set up, but as long as your port spacing is right, you should be able to fit, however you need to follow how its been done previous, its the way it works, and ive done it, bar a mod on the way the icv is fitted, its pretty much as good as its gonna get

on the splicing idea- its not even worth thinking of, if you fit one youll see

How can it be more difficult to solder a couple of wires than to start drilling and affixing? And you are already adding wires for the TPS

I just timed my Sax with a mobile, 0-60 is 8 secs on the first attempt.

first off mate, you cant measure your 0-60 with your speedo and a phone, thats impossible, for one the clocks are miles out, and yours are older style which are worse, my current vtr sais im doing 80mph on clock when in fact im doing 70.5-71mph

secondly, as said the rallye inlet is quite hard to get running on the saxo engine dont complicate things, you have to add/modify wiring for the tps, depending on your loom the air intake temp sensor(iirc) is plug and play, the rallye either doesnt use a MAP sensor, or its run of a vacuum pipe external to the mani. so you need to fit yours, this requires either running a vac pipe from the mani to your MAP, which is untidy and runs risk of falling off causing you more issues in the future, or by drilling 2 holes and running a tap down one of them, sealing them MAP on with a bolt and some sealant, same with icv but it'll be 3 holes, then its plug and play with your loom, you need a drill out..o drill under the plenum for the injector loom to fit through, its easy, easier then soldering

youd really rather cut and solder your loom onto plugs that are totally different to the sax loom, and run sensors that have wires that are colour coded diff to the sax loom? some of whic have 3 wires where the saxo loom only has two wires?

also the rallye icv is bad for getting to work rite, most ppl have issues with them on the rallye never mind the saxo lol

as said mate, its been done alot, if there was an easier way itd have been done, ive done it and i cant think of any better ways to do it

Why do you think it is not 8 seconds? Are you incapable of counting? Do you not realise that there is a digital slider bar at the bottom of the video and that it is over 1 second elapsed before the car starts moving, and that there is another spare second at the end?
