Parcel shelf type speakers

My car is a saloon so it comes with that like parcel shelf area that isnt removable etc.

The car comes standard with speakers mounted here with no backs to them, I wanted to upgrade all the speakers in the car and was thinking of a pair of those 6.5" woofers you can get. I dont want tonnes of bass, nor extra added unnessary weight.

Would it be a bad idea mounting these speakers in the original standard placings, baring in mind they will be open backed.

Not the best, you could always add some maf boxes to the back of the woofer?

Yeh I guess, they wouldnt have to be too big would they?

Just read up on the specs, could make it a bit thicker than normal and have a wide but not deep box dependant on room you got! 6.5" ones wouldn't need a big box tbh
