Cupra TDI
Hi everyone,
As some of you know I was on the hunt for a Cupra TDI, I've been searching since Janaury but have finally got my hands on one. I travelled from Ireland to Manchester and had to get back via boat from Scotland all in the one day, it was a very long journey but it was worth it in the end up. Driving the Cupra home was an absolute treat and I was shocked with the response it gave. The car is a 2006 model with FSH, miles showing as just over 75000 with all previous MOT's. The cambelt / water pump was done within last 10K miles so I don't need to worry about that. I gave the car a good looking over but it appeared faultless except for two small parking ding's.
Opinions?

Nice. Great colour when polished up. These things are pretty wild for a diesel, but the factory suspension lets them down.
Why were you after a 2005+ model??

Yeah when I got it in Manchester it was spotless but after driving to Scotland then through Ireland it need's a good clean again. I like the shape of the MK4 and my heart has been set on one since January when I first started looking.
The one thing I was worried about was the suspension / ride but it wasn't as bad as what I thought it was going to be, the ride is a lot better than my VTR but I haven't lowered it yet so can't really compare.
The car is pretty wild for a diesel, I did have a Bora which was mapped to 170bhp over the last year but it just doesn't compare, I dread to think what it will be like once I map it

Good effort on the brakes.

So I have a couple of updates on the car. Want to get all of the stupid things out of the way first of all so I carbon wrapped my ash tray cover.

I've also been and got the car de-catted. Was expecting more noise but ah well.

You can get more noise by fitting a non-satanic engine?

Want a Milltek backbox but that won't be happening until the funds become available.

Yeah I'm insured and all. Sold the Saxo last week so that paid for my insurance. I'm going to smoke the rear badge as well. All in due course lol Already ordered pressed number plates and a Cupra splitter :-)
